Martin was ordained a minister in 1947.
He graduated from Morehouse College.
Martin married Coretta Scott in 1953.
Martin’s first church was in Montgomery, Alabama.
He led a boycott of the buses in Montgomery from 1955 to 1956.
On August 28, 1963 Martin gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech.
He spoke on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Martin was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in1964
Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968.
