Queen meets Pope Francis at the Vatican

The Queen presented the Pope with some British products, including whisky. She received a lapis lazuli orb for baby Prince George.

The Queen has met Pope Francis for the first time, during a one-day visit to the Italian capital, Rome.

Earlier, the Queen and Prince Philip had lunch with the Italian President, Giorgio Napolitano, and his wife Clio at the Quirinal Palace.

It is the Queen’s first foreign trip since a visit to Australia in 2011.

April Fools’ Day

April Fools’ Day (sometimes called All Fools’ Day) is an informal holiday celebrated every year on April 1. The day is not a national holiday in any country, but it is widely recognized and celebrated as a day when people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other, called April fools.[1] Hoax stories are also often found in the press and media on this day.
